Summertime usually signals the start of vacations, getaways and spending time in the great outdoors; but in our local real estate market, summer is also a time for an influx of visiting city dwellers who become potential buyers when they discover the beauty of Grey County and the lifestyle it offers.
Although there is little doubt of the recent changes in the market (generally due to worldwide economic and social upheaval), the pressure of urban life continues to be a major motivator for a large sector of the population to seek alternate life/work balance and a better environment for themselves and their families. That puts Grey County in a very advantageous position.
While we can expect the nationwide economy to continue to show signs of uncertainty, we also believe that our local market will maintain its strength due to the supply and demand effect. Grey County and all of Southwestern Ontario remain a desirable destination for individuals and businesses.
We have the lowest unemployment rate in the province with a higher-than-average skilled trade labour force, competitive wage costs and tax rates, good transportation corridors and a good supply of land.
In addition, our entertainment and hospitality industries, our cultural entrepreneurs, sports and eco-tourism foster a positive climate for growth, prosperity and enriched quality of life.
Does it sound like we’re raving? You bet.
We Love Grey County!!!
